Unfortunately the nice old park that used to be here got concreted over a few years ago & is now staggeringly bright with glare in the summer, and no shade. There is a very fun fountain though; all the sweltering grown ups were jealously watching the nippers splash around in! A baking afternoon indeed, but the various drum groups played valiantly. An older group of ladies caught my eye as some local lads were attempting to break-dance to the beat – don’t think I’ve ever seen that before! A large group of schoolies were very polished, and a professional group called Gonna finished the gig off with a bizarre but working combination of “Merimba & Taiko” (I think!) – a very good, tight quartet, led by a lass with the sweetest smile who was clearly loving every moment.
